B-nine

B-Nine is the commercial name for daminozide. The material is applied only as a foliar spray because it is rapidly broken down when applied to the substrate. It is highly mobile in the plant and will rapidly move from the point of application to all parts of the plant. It is most commonly applied at rates of 1250 to 5000 ppm. B-nine is effective on most crops except pansy, impatiens, geranium and lilies. It is highly effective in controlling growth of seedlings in plug flats, and it is more effective in cooler parts of the country.
