Cucumber
Formation of female flowers:
ethephon, 125-300 mg/l. Spraying plants when they have 2 true
leaves. Application can be repeated later. It can cause temporary growth
retardation.
Formation of male flowers:
gibberellic acid, 1g/l. Application on the shoot tips with a brush. 3
application, with first application when the plants have 2-3 true
leaves.
Carrot
Growth control:
dimexan, 1.100-1900 gr/m2. Plants should not be watered before
application. It can cause yield reduction but also price increase
because of less root system formation.
Production increase:
Cytokinins, 100mg/m2. Spraying on leaves when the root is starting to
grow.
Onion
Better seed germination:
gibberellic acid, 50 mg/l. Dipping of the seeds for 24 hours and
immediate sowing.
Potato
Better seed germination:
gibberellic acid, 1-6 mg/l. Dipping of the seeds for 4 minutes.
Growth control:
chlormequat chloride, 150 gr/m2. Spraying before flowering and a second
application after 1-2 weeks.
Tomato
Growth control:
chlormequat control, 1.4-2 g/l. One spraying before flowering and 2 more
with 15 days interval.
daminozide, 60-330 g/m2. Spraying when plants have 1-4 true leaves.
Second application, if necessary, 2 weeks later.
Avoiding transplanting shock:
pinolene, 20-25 g/l. Spraying before transplanting.
Shorter plants before transplanting:
chlormequat chloride, 400-600 mg/l. Drenching when plants have 15-20 cm
height, and two more applications with 15 days interval .
Acceleration of ripening:
ethephon, 1.2-1.68 /l. Spraying when 5-20% of fruits have red color.
Harvesting 12-20 days after treatment.
Increased production:
Cytokinins, 100 mg/m2. Spraying on leaves before or during flowering.
